Verified Vendor Policy

A "Verified" badge on ShilpoSetu means a specific, published and repeatable process has been completed. The full pipeline is documented below so any buyer can audit it.

The Verification Pipeline

Stage 1 — Required Documentation

Every business must submit a valid Trade Licence or Commercial Registration (CR), a national identity document for the authorised representative, and — where applicable — a BSTI certification.

Stage 2 — Document Verification

Submitted documents are OCR-read and screened for stock-photo reuse, image tampering, inconsistent data between documents, and forged QR payloads.

Stage 3 — Registry Cross-Check

For Bangladeshi entities the RJSC / Ministry of Commerce registration number format is validated; for GCC entities the commercial registration and TRN (VAT) status are cross-checked.

Stage 4 — Restricted-Category Review

Any listing falling under BMET regulations — manpower supply, overseas recruitment or visa processing — is removed before publication, in line with government anti-fraud mandates.

Stage 5 — Ongoing Re-verification

Verified status is not permanent. Listings are re-checked against their registry status on a recurring cycle, and a revoked licence removes the badge automatically.

Why an Application Can Be Rejected

  • Documents proven to be forged, altered, or mutually inconsistent.
  • The Trade Licence or CR number is expired, suspended, or revoked.
  • Any BMET-regulated activity is detected — manpower supply, recruitment agency, or visa processing.
  • Product listings contain deliberately false or misleading specifications.

Limitations of Our Verification

We are explicit about what verification does and does not mean. Document review confirms that a business is registered and that the documents it supplied are genuine — it does NOT certify a company's financial standing, solvency, product quality, or the outcome of any trade. Buyers must still perform their own due diligence before any payment or contract. ShilpoSetu facilitates business introductions; it does not relieve either party of contractual responsibility.
